This game was inspired by my 5 year old daughter Gretta. One day she came to me and said, “Will you play cards with me Mom?” So I sat down with her and she proceeded to explain how to play the game she had invented. I was impressed by the basic concept of her idea and tried to think of a way to expand it into an educational children’s card game.

Playing cards with our children seems to be somewhat of a lost form of interaction with the busy culture of our society. On our farm, we have a large garden which also is an important form of interaction and education for our children. I decided to try and blend the two together to make this game a fun and learning experience.

With the help of my family and friends, we formed this game called Gretta’s Garden!
